Digitale euro, bouwjaar 2029
«We aim to be ready for a potential first issuance of the digital euro during 2029.»

ECB: digitale euro nooit programmeerbaar geld
«The Eurosystem has therefore concluded that a digital euro would never be programmable money.»

«The digital euro would offer both online and offline functionalities, meaning that users could use it even when they have poor or no network reception.»

«Users would only be able to hold a limited amount of digital euro in their account. This would prevent excessive outflows of bank deposits and help preserve the stability of our financial system, even in times of crisis.»

FedNow: rails zonder briefje
«FedNow Service enables instant payments in the United States.»

BIS: wholesale en retail CBDC
De Bank for International Settlements coördineert CBDC-experimenten wereldwijd. Programmeerbaarheid staat in hun papers, niet alleen in blogs.
«CBDCs can be designed with programmability and offline functionality as design choices.»

«The key difference with the CBDC is that the central bank will have absolute control on the rules and regulations that will determine the use of that expression of central bank liability. And also, we will have the technology to enforce that.»
